ChargEV Request a charger

Launching in Toronto & the GTA

Tell us where you want a charger.

Anyone can say “I want a charger here”: a condo garage, a workplace, a plaza lot, a street, a park. ChargEV groups those requests by location and brings the demand to the cities, condo boards and installers who can act on it.

Free for requesters. Pre-launch, so early requests shape where we start.

Illustrative demo Animated illustration of charger requests on a city map Request pins drop onto an abstract street grid beside a lake. Counters tick up on each pin. When a cluster of requests grows large enough, a cable draws to a charger, which fills with charge and is tagged as matched with an installer. All numbers are illustrative. The gap

Chargers go where it’s easy to build. Not where people asked.

Right now, wanting a charger usually means one email to one building manager, or one note to the city, and then silence. Decision-makers rarely see the whole picture, and installers can’t see where the demand is.

One resident’s request is easy to ignore. Forty are not. ChargEV turns scattered wishes into a clear, location-specific signal.

How it works

From “I wish” to a case someone can act on.

  1. Request

Tell us the place: an address, an intersection or a building, and what kind of place it is. It’s a short form.

  2. Cluster

We group requests by location, so a lot, a block or a building shows up as one demand signal instead of scattered messages.

  3. Bring it to the decision-maker

The board, property manager, landlord, city or agency that decides sees the demand for that exact place, with the requesters who opted in to be contacted.

  4. Install

Where a decision-maker is ready, an installer can scope the job. We connect the demand with the people who do the work; installation is theirs.

Try it

Where do you want one?

Pick the kind of place. We’ll show who decides there and what makes a request count.

Who decides

The condo board and property manager

Ontario condo rules give owners a process to request EV charger installation.

What ChargEV does with your request

Groups it with others from the same building, so the board sees one picture of demand rather than a pile of separate emails. That summary is what we bring to the board and property manager.

What makes a request count

  • The building’s name or street address
  • Whether you park in the garage or on a surface lot
  • Your OK to be contacted about it
  • Neighbours adding their own request for the same building

Who decides

The employer or the property owner

If your office is in a leased building, it is often the landlord who decides, not your employer.

What ChargEV does with your request

Groups requests from people at the same workplace and brings them to whoever controls the parking, with a clear view of how many people are asking and where they park.

What makes a request count

  • The workplace address and the lot or garage you use
  • Colleagues adding requests for the same site
  • Whether you drive in daily or a few days a week
  • Your OK to be contacted about it

Who decides

The landlord or plaza owner

Tenants and the managing company often have a say too.

What ChargEV does with your request

Groups requests for the same plaza or mall lot and brings the demand to the owner or manager, showing that people would use a charger there and would stay while they charge.

What makes a request count

  • The plaza’s name and address
  • Which shops or services you visit there
  • Other shoppers asking for the same lot
  • Your OK to be contacted about it

Who decides

The city

Street parking sits with the municipality.

What ChargEV does with your request

Groups requests by street and block and brings the pattern to the city, so staff and councillors can see where residents without a driveway are asking, rather than hearing one complaint at a time.

What makes a request count

  • The street and the nearest intersection
  • Whether your home has no driveway or garage
  • Neighbours on the same block asking too
  • Your OK to be contacted about it

Who decides

The city or the agency that runs the site

Parks, arenas and libraries are usually run by a municipality or a public agency.

What ChargEV does with your request

Groups requests for the same facility and brings them to the people who manage it, including how long visitors tend to stay, which matters when choosing where charging fits.

What makes a request count

  • The name of the park, arena or library
  • Which lot or entrance you use
  • How often you visit
  • Your OK to be contacted about it

Who decides

Whoever owns or manages the place

If it isn’t obvious, we’ll work it out.

What ChargEV does with your request

Tell us where and why. We’ll find out who controls the parking there, group your request with any others for the same place, and bring it to them.

What makes a request count

  • An address, intersection or building name
  • A line on what the place is and how you use it
  • Others asking for the same spot
  • Your OK to be contacted about it

Two sides, one map

Requesters ask. Decision-makers get the case.

For drivers & residents

Say it once. Be counted with everyone else.

  • Free to request. No cost to add your place to the map.
  • Exactly where. Your building, street or lot, not a vague postal code.
  • Stronger together. Your request is grouped with others for the same place.
  • You choose what’s shared. Only what you opt in to leaves ChargEV.

What the service will provide:

  • Demand heat by location. Where requests cluster, by building, street or lot.
  • Contactable, opted-in requesters. People who said they’re happy to be contacted about a charger at that place.
  • Proof for budget cases and board votes. A clear, location-specific summary to put in front of a council, board or committee.
  • Qualified leads for installers. The type of site, who decides, and the demand behind it.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is it free for requesters?

Yes. Adding a request costs nothing.

Does a request guarantee a charger?

No. A request shows demand for a specific place. Whether a charger is installed is up to whoever owns or manages that place and the installer they choose. Our job is to make the demand impossible to overlook.

Do you install chargers?

No. We connect demand with the people who do: decision-makers who can approve a project and installers who can carry it out.

What do you share, and with whom?

Only what you opt in to. By default, a decision-maker sees the demand for a place, not your personal details. If you agree to be contacted, we can pass on your contact information for that place.

Where does ChargEV work?

We’re launching in Toronto and the GTA. You can still leave a request from somewhere else; it helps us see where to go next.

Do I need to own an EV?

No. If you’re planning to switch and want charging to be there when you do, your request counts.

I run a city programme, a property or an installation business. How do I get involved?
